Velos 2023.4.SR1 Dairy Farming

This Nedap Velos software version contains new and improved functionalities that provide new solutions, add valuable options to existing solutions and further increase the ease of use of Velos.

Nedap FarmControl

Traffic

  • Fixed an issue on the 2-5 way sorter with chase out. After activating the chase out the hold gate would sometimes not open anymore.

Nedap CowControl

Cow Locating

  • Improved calibration process, especially to support large farms (>1000 cows)

  • In situations where one beacon (VP4201) is communicating with multiple UHF-readers (VP4102) and one of the UHF-readers has a bad connection with this beacon, that UHF-reader could cause the beacon being reported as missing. This has been improved.

  • The V-Pack page showed the beacons (VP4201) only after the information of all beacons was received. With many beacons this resulted in a long delay on the page. This has been improved by showing the beacons one by one.

Nedap MilkingControl

  • In large parlours Velos system was interrupted for a number of seconds every time it performed the statistical SmartFlow calibration calculations. Improved the performance of these calculations to prevent this from happening.

  • In Velos 2023.4 the setting 'External control type' has been introduced on the InTouch settings page. The options for this setting, 'normally open' and 'normally closed', were implemented the wrong way around. This has been fixed.

General

  • Processing messages from subscription tags placed a high load on the VPU's processor. An improvement has been made to the software to prevent this from happening.

Firmware

  • VP4102: v3.06.31

    • Improved communication between VP4102 and wireless V-Packs (VP4201-beacons and VP4102-UHF-repeaters).

Velos version

  • An installation needs to run on version 2022.1 or newer to be able to update to this version. Make sure to update to version 2022.1 first before installing this version.

Taurus

  • This version is compatible with Taurus 2020.1 (5.101.7.0) or higher.
