This Nedap Velos software version contains new and improved functionalities that provide new solutions, add valuable options to existing solutions and further increase the ease of use of Velos.

Nedap CowControl

Heat Detection and Health Monitoring

  • Calendar date report sometimes showed the same animal multiple times. This has been fixed.

  • Pregnant animals without a prior calving date (young stock) could get a "No heat" attention while they should not get one. This has been fixed.

Nedap MilkingControl

  • Two new frequency bands have recently been added for SmartFlows to communicate with Velos, and these bands are now supported in Velos. As of this Velos version, the SmartFlow can now also be used in China and Malaysia.

General

  • Nedap constantly updates the software to prevent security vulnerabilities. In this version some 3rd party libraries have been updated because of these vulnerabilities: CVE-2024-8184

  • Updated the Nedap disclaimer and EULA.

  • The network check in the service widget on the dashboard will no longer succeed if the local IP address of the VPU is not in a valid IP address range as specified by the Internet Engineering Task Force and Internet Assigned Numbers Authority’s ‘Private Network’ ranges.

Valid ranges for local IP addresses are:

    • 10.0.0.0 through 10.255.255.255

    • 172.16.0.0 through 172.31.255.255

    • 192.168.0.0 through 192.168.255.255

Although not advised to use the following range is also considered a valid local IP address:

    • 192.0.0.0 through 192.0.0.255

If secure network mode is disabled it is now allowed to use IP-addresses outside these ranges. Please contact Nedap if secure network mode must be disabled because using such an IP-address is not possible for some reason.

  • On pages displaying tag numbers in a table, where the table was sorted by tag number, the tags were previously sorted alphabetically. This has now been changed to a numerical sorting order.

  • Resolved following issues:

    • The system notification about the availability of a new version displayed a popup, but the buttons in this popup had no text. This issue has now been resolved.

    • Velos did accept duplicate vpu-online domain names.

    • Automatic discovery of secondary VPUs did not always work.

    • In very noisy environments the disturbed UHF communication with VP4102 repeaters could cause the VPU to get stuck.

    • The setup wizard would fail after entering the VPU address.

    • The license update page occasionally displayed no text.

Firmware

New firmware has been added for the following V-Packs:

  • VP1801: v3.11.12

    • Prepared for RS232 communication. This is only available on VP1801 hardware version 5 and

      higher.

    • Added a setting to control the Output-5 as a output for a Velos behaviour component or an

      identification light.

    • Fix for wireless sync mode in dual antennas can’t uncheck HDX mode.

    • Fix for a vp1801-A the HDX option can’t be disabled in custom mode.
