Velos 2025.4.SR1 Dairy Farming

This Nedap Velos software version contains new and improved functionalities that provide new solutions, add valuable options to existing solutions and further increase the ease of use of Velos.

Nedap FarmControl

Identification

• When using animal identification in the milking parlour in combination with the Velos .NET interface, the method updatePosition(int position, Responder responder) in the Velos .NET interface stopped working. It returned a 404 Not Found error, making it no longer possible to change the positioning of the animals via the Velos .NET interface. This issue has been resolved.

Traffic

• An issue was resolved where the Sorting overview page could no longer display results if a sorting pen was removed while sorting results for that location still existed. To prevent this, all related sorting rules and sorting results are now automatically removed when a sorting pen is deleted. This ensures the Sorting overview page continues to function correctly after a sorting pen is removed.

• Fixed an issue where the Sorting tab on the Animal overview page displayed “Can not display information” when an animal was separated using the sorter unit in manual mode. The information is now displayed correctly.

Nedap CowControl

Cow Locating

• When error messages were shown on the monitor page of the Positioning Setup behaviour component, they were not visible on the behaviour component overview page under Settings and Maintenance. This issue has been resolved.

Nedap MilkingControl

• An issue has been resolved where on small windows, the parlour monitor did not show the milk yield correctly. The green bar indicating the milk yield was positioned incorrectly.

General

• Nedap constantly updates the software to prevent security vulnerabilities. In this version some 3rd party libraries have been updated because of these vulnerabilities.

• An issue has been resolved that occasionally caused interruptions in the connection with Nedap Now. This was especially noticeable at farms with a less stable internet connection, and the connection problems were visible in the Nedap Now Devices app. As a result, no data was lost; however, in these cases the data was processed later in Nedap Now, causing insights to become visible later in the Nedap Now interface.

  

• We improved the message throughput so that synchronization to Nedap Now will no longer lag after a temporary internet outage on large farms.

• At farms with a slow or unstable internet connection, it could happen that the queue for one specific data type was completely emptied, while large queues built up for other data types. We have therefore ensured that all queues containing data for Nedap Now are now processed evenly.

• The firmware update for the VP1801 has been adapted to account for the fact that the update in the VP1801 is not programmed in a contiguous memory area.

• An issue has been resolved that occasionally caused widgets on the dashboard to incorrectly display the message “An unknown error has occurred”.

• Memory constraints have been added to the MQTT broker to ensure that the VPU can no longer run out of memory.

System requirements

Velos version

• An installation needs to run on version 2024.1.SR4 or newer to be able to update to this version. Make sure to update to version 2024.1.SR4 first before installing this version.

Taurus

• When using Taurus for a DelPro integration this Velos version is only compatible with Taurus 2024.1.1 (5.147.25.0)

• For all other integrations this Velos version is compatible with Taurus 2020.1 (5.101.7.0) up to and including Taurus 2024.1.1 (5.147.25.0)

• This Velos version is compatible with Taurus 6.0 (6.0.0.62) for all integrations. Taurus with build numbers 5.x.x.x are deprecated and therefore it is advised to use Taurus 6.1
