Velos 2026.3 Dairy Farming

These are the release notes of the next version of Velos that is going to be released soon. The expected release date for this version is August 24, 2026.

This Nedap Velos software version contains new and improved functionalities that provide new solutions, add valuable options to existing solutions and further increase the ease of use of Velos.

Small improvements and fixed issues

• Animal at unexpected pen attentions are now cleared after pen changes. When an animal is detected outside its assigned pen, an animal at unexpected pen attention is created. If the animal is later assigned the pen where it was last detected, the open animal at unexpected pen attention is now cleared immediately. Previously, it would remain open until the animal was detected again.

• Fixed recurring animal sorting rules. Animals sorted using a Daily or Day of week rule are now listed under 'Animals to sort' again when the rule’s next occurrence begins. When 'Repeat in sorting period' is disabled, each animal can be sorted once per daily or weekly occurrence, as expected.

• When a user edited their profile by clicking the link in the bottom-right corner of the page, all available languages were displayed in English instead of the local language. This issue has been resolved.

• Improved Nedap Now message retry behaviour. When messages cannot be delivered to Nedap Now or the cloud service is temporarily unable to process them, sending the message was retried immediately. This has been replaced with an exponential backoff retry policy. This reduces unnecessary traffic and prevents multiple installations from overwhelming Nedap Now during service disruptions.

• The V-pack page showed an incorrect IP-address for secondary VPUs. This issue has been resolved.

• The V-pack power channel overview page did not display V-in correctly for CAN Vout1. When power was removed from Vin 1 on the VPU, with power still on Vin 2, then V-in did not drop to zero for CAN Vout1. This issue has been resolved.

• Updated the boot loader for Variscite 1.2d boards.

• The timezone field in the service widget on the dashboard displayed an exclamation mark even when the correct timezone was already selected. This issue has been fixed.

• Nedap constantly updates the software to prevent security vulnerabilities. This version contains security improvements.

System requirements

VPU

• All VPUs in the installation, both main and secondary, must be a VP8002 or a VP8621.

Velos version

• An installation needs to run on version 2024.1.SR4 or newer to be able to update to this version. Make sure to update to version 2024.1.SR4 first before installing this version.

Taurus

• This Velos version is compatible with Taurus 6.x.x.x for all integrations. Taurus with build numbers 5.x.x.x are deprecated and therefore it is advised to use the latest Taurus 6.x.x.x

• When using Taurus 5 for a DelPro integration this Velos version is only compatible with Taurus 2024.1.1 (5.147.25.0)

• For all other Taurus 5 integrations this Velos version is compatible with Taurus 2020.1 (5.101.7.0) up to and including Taurus 2024.1.1 (5.147.25.0)
